Banner to present at the BET Awards
Hey my good people! Be sure to watch the BET Awards tomorrow night (Tuesday, June 24,2008) at 8:00 p.m. Banner will be presenting an award! I am confident that he will look delicious as usual!!
"Never Get It" Lil' Wayne (Produced by David Banner)
Im not sure if you guys remember a couple of months back Banner did some interviews and said "I produced 4 songs on Lil' Waynes album, The Carter 3" and then when he was on 106 and Park in May he said "I have 2 songs on Lil' Waynes album". On the final track listing only "La La" made the cut. Click on the title of the blog to hear "Never Get It" that didnt make the album. Very tight!
Enjoy!

Better Recognize!!!!!
All I can say is, its about time people are recognizing and giving props where props are due!!
“I’m grippin’ the nina, visions of 9-11
Visions of three sixes, no sevens
This is Bushanomics
George is a modern day Ronald Reagan
I pray to God in the mist of pagans
Niggas is just sayin’:
When do we stop playing? When do we stop pimpin’ and start sprayin’?
50 shots for every cop that popped Sean Bell his body layin’
But they aquit, because they know that our generation won’t do shit
Nothing, nada
But every rapper is a shotta or a don dada, or a killer
But you ain’t killin’ nothing in this piece unless it’s another nigga
Trying to raise boys to Supermen
And while I’m at it, FUCK Arthur J. Cooperman
It’s never justice for Blacks but they send justice to Iraq
With poor Whites and Latinos
I pray to God that you hear the single
This is Banner’s middle finger!”
- David Banner "Middle Finger"
A Rawkus writer went on to say:
THAT is the DB we should be exposed to on the regular.
- THAT is an example of actual lyrical content.
- THAT is how you make a statement while rhyming.
- THAT is what the game’s been missing (Sorry Juelz).

Banner on BET Wednesday June 25, 2008
BET News next week will air Hip Hop Vs. America II: Where Did The Love Go?, the second installment of its popular town hall series featuring prominent African American music artists, journalists and activists candidly discussing the societal impact of hip hop music and music videos.
Hosted by BET News correspondent Jeff Johnson and hip hop pioneer MC Lyte, the primetime special provides “a platform for a heated debate that aims to uncover the cause and effect of relationships between Black men and women.,” network officials said.
Part I premieres Wednesday, June 25 at 8 p.m. ET with Part II airing Thursday, June 26, also at 8 p.m. on BET. Part III will air exclusively on “BET On Blast,” the network’s broadband channel, immediately following the conclusion of Part II.

America II include: David Banner (rapper/producer); Lil X (director); Talib Kweli (hip hop recording artist); Lyfe Jennings (R&B recording artist); Lola Ogunaike (journalist); Allison Samuels (Newsweek magazine); Nelson George (author/director/producer); Kevin Powell (writer/cultural critic); Michael Eric Dyson (author/professor, Georgetown University); Deelishis London Charles (winner, Flavor of Love 2); Angel Lola Love (video model/actress); Kim Osorio (author); Fershgenet Melaku (video model/actress); Michaela Angela Davis (journalist); Esther Armah (BBC journalist); Eugene Rivers (Christian activist); Clayton Gavin (hip hop artist/activist); Marc Lamont Hill (professor, Temple University); Melissa Harris Lacewell (professor, Princeton University); Lavonne Alford (recording artist); Beverly Bond (founder, Black Girls Rock, Inc. / hip hop DJ); Moya Bailey (activist/actor); Byron Hurt (filmmaker); Henry Bonsu (journalist); Akosua Anobil-Dodoo (journalist); LaShawna Stanley (President/CEO, Ethnicity Models); Ali LeRoi (producer/writer/director); M1 Dead Prez (hip hop artist/activist); and San Francisco District Attorney Kamala Harris.

David Banner and Nas' "Middle Finger"
Just thinking....
Banner posted another show on his kyte.tv channel yesterday of him rehearsing for his AOL show (trying to get details on that) and his Apple Store performances with LUPE FIASCO!!! How exciting!!! This is a busy man. If you've seen all of his kyte.tv shows, you know that he has been all over the place as of late. He has been in Atlanta, Mississippi, Denver, Texas, Los Angeles, Germany, Italy, New York, and Houston, all in a matter of a few weeks (and some of these places have seen duplicate visits from Banner). Gotta respect the hustle. One of my sources spotted Banner at an audition for a t.v. show spin-off a few days ago in Los Angeles. Thats a good look. I was thinking about how excited I am that Banner is building a legacy for himself. I'm soooooo looking forward to the album being released and to the movies he will be starring in hitting the big screen soon. He gives me something to look forward to. I was also thinking about how I haven't seen any advertisements or movie trailers yet. Is it too soon? What do you think? Anywho, just in case you missed one of my earlier entries, Mr. Banner will be performing at the following Apple Stores. Be sure to support him! I'm sure I will have a spy or two at the one of these shows....LOL

David Banner in Atl ..
Dedicated to Zeno Crump (David Banner's dad)
Decided to repost this dedication..
Here is a David Banner article I found about divine order and in David Banner's case, blessings in disguise. June 17, 2007 is when Banner's father passed away. Our prayers are with him! Keep him close to your heart and in your thoughts!
If you've watched Banner's kyte.tv channel, you know that Dottie (the name he gave his Bentley's name)is fully repaired.
“I was in downtown Atlanta on my way to the airport. I was in a beautiful ’06 silver Bentley GT with flakes in the paint, getting onto the highway right by Grady Hospital. Atlanta is on stilts when you’re going downtown. So I was on a bridge, sitting at the red light, and a lady smashed into my back at full speed and almost ran me off the bridge. She didn’t brake or anything, and she was on the phone. She thought I was gonna beat her ass because she saw a big, black dude. Everybody riding by was like, ‘Banner gonna beat that bitch’s ass!’ But I was hurt pretty bad. I hurt my neck and sprained my ankle. I didn’t even say nothing to her. I just got out and pointed to my Bentley symbol. The crazy thing with having an accident in a Bentley is her insurance won’t be able to cover it. So it’s a no-win.
I went to Mississippi to see my dad the next morning because I had missed my flight. I had been about to go to D.C. to host a party, then go to Miami, back to New York and then back to Atlanta. If that car accident hadn’t happened, I wouldn’t have been able to spend time with my father before he died from lung and brain cancer. I spent three days with him. I bathed him, slept in the room where he was and laughed with him. He died two days after I left to go back on the road. The car was nothing compared to those three days I was able to spend with my father. I haven’t even checked on [the car] to be honest with you. I don’t really care.”

Banner... creeping??? WOW!!!
Found this article today.....wonder how true it is....
Is David Banner the co-star charmer?
Rumors are flying about the rapper's on set flings with his higher profile co-stars while acting in small roles on films. The Mississippi based rapper known more for his eloquent speech in front of Congress about rap lyrics than his music, has apparently used his way with words to conjure up off screen time with his beautiful leads.
While shooting Black Snake Moan in Memphis, an onset source claims to have seen him sneaking from co-star Christina Ricci's hotel room early one morning. Perhaps their on screen sex scene was just a reenactment of what occurred off screen? On the set of urban film "This Christmas", actress and it girl Lauren London is said to have been "extra perky" whenever Mr. Banner came around to chat. Couple that with rumors about former "Girlfriend" Jill Marie Jones on this Summer's "The Longshots" and it seems David Banner is not only racking up roles, but co-stars...in bed.
